|"There are no speed limits on the road to excellence.”|
The Vision of Carson Elementary is to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and the community to become a school of excellence.
We, the community of Carson School: students, Carson staff, parents, guardians, caregivers, and the Price Hill Community work in collaboration for our goal of academic excellence. We are committed to nurturing the spirit and development of each child and to educating each child for life. We expect each child to meet or exceed the Cincinnati Public Schools' standards. Carson School is a neighborhood school in the Cincinnati Public School district. We serve students from preschool through sixth grade.
Students are the center of our work. We must know each student and build learning opportunities and webs of support so that every student reaches his or her highest potential.
We will hold high expectations for all students and create ways for students to meet them — both during the school day and beyond. We will enlist families and communities in this important work, and we will not rest until every student in this city is successful.
We believe that all students deserve to attend good schools. We will work to make sure every school in our district is high quality, and a viable choice for our families.
Principals and teachers, families and the community will have the opportunity to create Community Learning Centers in each school to support not only academic learning, but the arts and recreation and whatever else is considered important to meet student, family, and community needs. The choices are endless in what these centers can become, if partners collaborate to maximize resources for students, families and neighborhoods.
We, as a district, have the responsibility to ensure consistency of programs, constancy of purpose, and equity across the district. We also have a responsibility to maintain the focus and momentum of this strategic plan.
Cincinnati Public Schools will engage our staff and community in the implementation of this work. Our district will create a monitoring and support mechanism to ensure that we stay on track.
Carson is Building Futures, Every student…. Every day!
Important Information for Parents and Students
Parents, please remind your child(ren) to continue completing their classwork and homework each night. Attendance is critical and students need to be present everyday.
School hours: 7:45 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
Office hours: 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Student arrival to school starts at 7:30 a.m. when staff supervision of students begins. If they arrive earlier than 7:30 a.m., parents need to provide supervision. The arrival time is especially important during incremental weather, for the child will have to remain outside until supervision is made possible at 7:30 a.m. Please be reminded that students may not arrive or enter the building before 7:30 a.m. Students are to report immediately to assigned areas for appropriate adult supervision. Students are not permitted to leave the school grounds without adult supervision or authorization.
Student Pick Up After School Hours
All students must be picked up promptly at 2:15 p.m. unless they are remaining at school for a scheduled detention or after-school program.
Carson Elementary welcomes all visitors to our building during school hours. All visitors are required to register in the main office to obtain a visitor’s pass. In an effort to keep our students safe, any non-staff member seen in the building without a pass will be asked to report to the main office.
