Procedures

SCHOOL DAY

Our regular school day will begin at 7:45 a.m. and will dismiss at 2:15 p.m. Pupils should arrive no earlier than 7:30 a.m. and leave no later than 2:30 p.m. We are unable to provide supervision prior to 7:30 a.m. or after 2:30 p.m.  Students who arrive in their classroom after 7:45 a.m. are tardy.  Students should report directly to their classroom when they arrive.  If a student is tardy they need to get a tardy slip from the tardy desk.

BREAKFAST/LUNCH

Breakfast will be served beginning at 7;45 a.m.  All students will have breakfast at no cost.  Students will go to breakfast with their grade level.  Each classroom will have 15 minutes to eat their breakfast.  All students will go through the breakfast line.  Parents, please encourage your children to have breakfast at school.  It will be a great way to start each child's day.  All families will need to complete the free/reduced lunch form for the 2006-2007 school year.  The school office is not permitted to loan lunch money to children.  Students who are buying lunch should pay for their lunch in the morning.

Breakfast and lunch costs

  • Breakfast Cost - Free
  • Lunch Cost K-8 - $1.75 (full price) $ .40 (reduced)
  • Milk $ .30

WE NEED A FORM FROM EVERYONE PLEASE

It is imperative that you complete the forms you received in the packet mailed from the Board of Education (Emergency Medical Authorization, Student Information Update and Free Lunch/Breakfast Application – if you qualify) and return these forms to us by the first Friday of the school year. If you did not receive a packet, please come to the office to pick up these forms.

DROPPING OFF AND PICKING UP YOUR CHILDREN

Students should not come to school before 7:35 a.m. We want to teach our children to be independent so we ask that you bring your child to school and leave once they are with the playground or lunchroom supervision. In the interest of safety as well, we ask that you not congregate in the halls and lobbies when dropping off or picking up your child. The areas of concern include the front door lobby area and the office area. This practice blocks the areas where children walk and is distracting to the children and teachers in the surrounding classrooms. No parent is permitted in the entryway unless visiting the school office. All visitors (including parents) wishing to visit our school must first receive permission from the office and receive a visitor’s pass, which must be worn for the duration of the visit and returned to the office at the end of the visit. This procedure is required in order to ensure the safety of students and staff. We appreciate your cooperation in this endeavor.

EARLY DISMISSAL

  1. Bring a note from home. This note must be signed by the legal guardian and include a daytime telephone number for verification.
  2. Give the note to your teacher during morning homeroom and the office will be notified.
  3. Your parent should report directly to the office to sign you out and wait for you in the office. The student will be called to the office.
  4. We can only attempt to contact persons previously designated by the legal guardian in the event that you child needs to be dismissed early due to illness.
  5. The staff will not dismiss children to anyone who has not previously authorized permission in writing.
  6. We must be able to verify any changes in dismissal requested via telephone. This means that the office must be able to contact the legal guardian at a previously designated telephone number.

Students must have a parent’s note for any changes in daily transportation. This note must include parent signature, daytime telephone number and be taken to the office before classes begin. This note should not request a change in route number or assigned stop. A separate form must be completed for this request. We will not honor any request that cannot be verified. No Exceptions!!!!
